With local experts to deepen your understanding of Nepal’s diverse heritage and biodiversity, this journey is more than just a vacation—it’s a true exploration of Nepal’s soul.

Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur: The Cultural Triangle of the Valley
Your adventure begins in the heart of Nepal—Kathmandu. This ancient capital is a sensory overload of sights, sounds, and spiritual energy. Discover UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Boudhanath Stupa, and the sacred Pashupatinath Temple. Each site holds centuries of stories and spiritual significance, offering insight into Nepal's unique blend of Hinduism and Buddhism. Stroll through the bustling alleys of Thamel or the courtyards of Kathmandu Durbar Square, where centuries-old palaces and temples still echo the grandeur of Malla kings.

Continue your journey to Patan (Lalitpur), renowned for its exquisite craftsmanship and well-preserved medieval architecture. Patan Durbar Square, with its array of temples, stone baths, and bronze statues, is a testimony to the artistic heights of the Newar civilization. Then, head to Bhaktapur, the ‘City of Devotees,’ where time seems to stand still. Walking through Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Nyatapola Temple, and Pottery Square reveals a city that remains true to its ancient roots, filled with timeless beauty and artisanal pride.

Nagarkot: Sunrise Over the Himalayas
Nestled on the eastern edge of the Kathmandu Valley, Nagarkot is a serene hilltop getaway famed for its panoramic views of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest on a clear day. After exploring the bustling cities, Nagarkot offers a tranquil escape into nature. The drive up the winding mountain roads is scenic, with lush forests and terraced fields, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and reflection. Arrive before dusk to witness a stunning sunset that bathes the Himalayan peaks in golden hues.

The highlight of Nagarkot is undoubtedly the sunrise view. Wake up early and head to the viewpoint, where the first rays of sunlight illuminate a 360-degree panorama of snow-capped mountains. It’s a peaceful and inspiring experience, perfect for nature lovers and photographers. With gentle hiking trails around the area, Nagarkot also invites you to explore local villages and witness rural life in the foothills of the Himalayas.

Bardia National Park: Untamed Wilderness in Western Nepal
Leaving the cultural heartland behind, the tour now ventures into the wilderness of Bardia National Park—Nepal’s largest and most undisturbed protected area. Located in the far west of the country, Bardia is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts and conservationists alike. The park is home to endangered species such as the Royal Bengal tiger, one-horned rhinoceros, wild elephants, and the elusive Gangetic dolphin. It offers a true jungle experience, far from the crowds, with a pristine natural environment.

Guided jungle safaris—either by jeep, foot, or canoe—allow you to experience the park’s rich biodiversity up close. Hidden Path Treks & Expeditions works with knowledgeable naturalists who enhance your understanding of the park’s unique ecosystem and conservation efforts. Staying in eco-lodges near the park, you’ll also have the chance to interact with the local Tharu community, learning about their traditions, dances, and harmonious coexistence with nature. Bardia is a highlight for any traveler seeking a deeper connection with Nepal’s wild side.

Return to Kathmandu: Reflection and Departure
After days immersed in natural wonder, return to Kathmandu for a final exploration or shopping spree. Visit local artisan shops for traditional crafts, jewelry, and textiles, or unwind in a café while reflecting on your journey. This is a perfect time to revisit any missed heritage sites or simply enjoy the vibrant energy of the capital before departure.

Hidden Path Treks & Expeditions ensures a smooth conclusion to your tour, with airport transfers and assistance throughout. Whether you're flying home or continuing to another part of Nepal, you’ll leave with memories of a diverse and enriching experience—from sacred temples and medieval cities to wild jungles and Himalayan vistas.

Best Time to Visit
The ideal time for the Kathmandu Sightseeing and Bardia National Park Tour is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. These months offer the best of both cultural sightseeing and wildlife exploration. In spring, the Kathmandu Valley is alive with blooming rhododendrons, clear skies, and warm temperatures, creating the perfect setting for heritage walks and scenic drives to Nagarkot. Meanwhile, Bardia National Park becomes increasingly active with wildlife during this season, as animals are more easily spotted near water sources.

Autumn is another excellent time to visit, as post-monsoon skies are typically crystal clear, offering stunning mountain views from Nagarkot and comfortable weather in the lowlands of Bardia. It’s also the season of major festivals like Dashain and Tihar, providing visitors with a vibrant cultural experience. While winter (December to February) is cooler, it is still a good time for wildlife spotting in Bardia due to the dry vegetation and fewer crowds. Summer (June to August), on the other hand, brings heavy monsoon rains, which can affect travel plans and limit visibility in both regions.
