Bhutan’s weather varies greatly depending on the season and altitude. Lightweight layered clothing is recommended for daytime, with warmer jackets for early mornings and evenings, especially around Dochula Pass and higher altitudes. Comfortable walking shoes are essential for monastery visits and hiking trails. Also, carry sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and any personal medications. Bhutan requires modest attire when visiting religious sites, so bring clothing that covers shoulders and knees. Hidden Path Treks & Expeditions will provide a detailed packing list and travel advice tailored to your travel dates.
While the tour involves some walking and short hikes, such as the moderately challenging trek to Paro Taktsang, it is suitable for travelers with average fitness levels. The company ensures that the itinerary balances activity and rest so you can enjoy the cultural sites comfortably. However, if you have any mobility concerns or health conditions, please inform us in advance so we can adjust the itinerary accordingly.
Bhutan is beautiful year-round, but the best time to visit is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. During these periods, the weather is pleasant, the skies are clear, and the landscapes are vibrant with blooming flowers or colorful foliage. Winter can be chilly but still rewarding, especially for those wanting to avoid crowds. Hidden Path Treks & Expeditions can help you choose the best travel dates based on your preferences.
Bhutan requires all tourists to have a visa arranged through a licensed Bhutanese tour operator, such as Hidden Path Treks & Expeditions. Once your booking is confirmed, we will initiate the visa process by submitting your passport details to the Tourism Council of Bhutan. Upon approval, you will receive a visa clearance letter, which is required to enter Bhutan. The actual visa stamp is issued upon arrival at Paro airport.
