Overview

The Muldai View Point Trek, organized by Hidden Path Treks & Expeditions, is a hidden gem nestled in the Annapurna region. This short yet breathtaking trek offers mesmerizing panoramic views of more than 20 Himalayan peaks, including Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Nilgiri, and Hiunchuli. Compared to the crowded Poon Hill trail, Muldai View Point offers a quieter and more serene alternative without compromising on mountain vistas.

Starting from Kathmandu, the journey takes you to Pokhara, Nepal's lakeside paradise, before driving to Ghandruk, a traditional Gurung village rich in culture and hospitality. The trek progresses through Tadapani, Dobato, and culminates at Muldai View Point (3,637m). This lesser-known lookout offers a truly magical sunrise experience, where golden rays illuminate the snow-capped peaks in all directions. The trail continues to Ghorepani and ends with a final walk to Hile before driving back to Pokhara. It’s the perfect trek for travelers looking for moderate adventure, natural beauty, and cultural immersion within a week.

Best Time for Muldai View Point Trek
The best seasons for the Muldai View Point Trek are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). During these months, the skies are typically clear, the temperatures are moderate, and the mountain views are at their finest. Spring brings colorful rhododendron blooms throughout the forested sections of the trail, adding a vibrant and refreshing touch to the trek.

Autumn offers the sharpest visibility, ideal for photographers and nature lovers alike. The dry trails and stable weather make for comfortable trekking conditions. Winter (December to February) can also be a beautiful time to visit Muldai Hill with snow-dusted landscapes, but colder temperatures and possible snow on the trail may pose challenges. The summer monsoon (June to August) is best avoided due to heavy rain, slippery paths, and limited visibility.

Muldai View Point Trekking: Easy or Difficulty?
The Muldai View Point Trek is considered a moderate-level trek, suitable for beginners with basic fitness and prior hiking experience. The trek does not reach extreme altitudes like Everest or Annapurna Base Camp, making it ideal for those who want a scenic Himalayan trek without facing the physical toll of high-altitude conditions.

Trekkers can expect daily walking times between 4 to 7 hours, with some steep ascents, especially on the way to Muldai Hill and Ghorepani. The well-marked trails pass through forests, terraced fields, and charming villages. Hidden Path Treks & Expeditions structures the trek with a steady pace, proper acclimatization, and experienced guides to support trekkers of all levels. It’s a rewarding challenge that strikes a balance between effort and enjoyment.

Since the maximum elevation on this trek is just over 3,600 meters, the risk of altitude sickness is relatively low compared to higher treks in Nepal. However, it’s still important to stay hydrated, walk at a comfortable pace, and avoid alcohol. Our guides are trained to monitor your health and can identify early symptoms of altitude sickness. Should any health concerns arise, we are fully prepared to provide assistance or modify the itinerary if necessary.

You’ll need comfortable trekking boots, layered clothing (for warm days and cool nights), a down jacket, rain gear, gloves, a warm hat, sunglasses, and a daypack.
