Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, a representative from Hidden Path Treks & Expeditions will receive you and escort you to your hotel. After check-in, you’ll have time to relax or take a short walk around the bustling streets of Thamel. In the evening, you will meet your trekking guide for a detailed briefing about the Muldai View Point Trek. This session will cover important details like the route, packing tips, and altitude precautions. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.
After breakfast, we set out on a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara, which takes approximately 6 to 7 hours. This drive offers beautiful glimpses of rivers, terraced fields, and rural settlements. Upon arriving in Pokhara, a peaceful lakeside city nestled below the Annapurna range, you'll check into your hotel. The afternoon is free for a relaxed exploration of the Lakeside area, where you can enjoy the views of Phewa Lake and the surrounding hills. Overnight in Pokhara.
We begin the day with a drive to Ghandruk, a picturesque Gurung village known for its traditional stone houses and stunning views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre. From Ghandruk, the trek starts with a gradual ascent through rhododendron and oak forests. After about five hours of walking, we arrive in Tadapani, a small settlement perched at 2,650 meters. This spot offers a beautiful forest setting and panoramic mountain views. Overnight in a local teahouse.
Today’s trek leads deeper into the lush forest trails of the Annapurna region. We follow a lesser-trodden path through dense rhododendron woods and high ridges with occasional mountain views peeking through. After 5 to 6 hours of trekking, we reach Dobato, a quiet resting point surrounded by alpine landscapes. From here, you can already begin to sense the beauty awaiting you at Muldai View Point. Overnight at a teahouse in Dobato.
We start the day early, making a pre-dawn hike to Muldai View Point, located at 3,637 meters. The effort is richly rewarded with an awe-inspiring sunrise over more than 20 Himalayan peaks, including Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhre. This hidden gem is far less crowded than Poon Hill, offering a tranquil panoramic experience. After soaking in the view, we descend back to Dobato for breakfast, then continue trekking through forested trails and ridges to the well-known village of Ghorepani. Overnight in Ghorepani.
Another early morning start takes us to Poon Hill, one of the most famous viewpoints in Nepal. The short hike rewards you with another spectacular sunrise, now from a different vantage point, again featuring the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. After descending to Ghorepani for breakfast, we trek downhill to Hile, passing through terraced fields and charming villages. From Hile, we drive back to Pokhara and settle in at our hotel. Evening at leisure by the lakeside. Overnight in Pokhara.
After breakfast, we depart Pokhara and begin the drive back to Kathmandu, retracing our route through scenic countryside and river valleys. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. The afternoon is free for rest, shopping, or exploring some of the cultural sites in the city. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner or a stroll through the local markets. Overnight in Kathmandu.

The Muldai View Point Trek is a hidden gem in the Annapurna region of Nepal, offering trekkers a quieter, more peaceful alternative to the popular Poon Hill route. Situated at an altitude of 3,637 meters (11,932 feet), Muldai Hill provides a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view of more than 25 snow-covered Himalayan peaks, including Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and Hiunchuli. The trek passes through dense rhododendron forests, traditional Gurung villages, and scenic ridgelines, making it ideal for those seeking nature, culture, and solitude in a short time frame.
This trek is considered moderate in difficulty and is suitable for both beginner and experienced trekkers who are in generally good health. The daily walking hours range from 4 to 7 hours with manageable ascents and descents. The highest point, Muldai Hill, is below 4,000 meters, so the risk of altitude sickness is low. With proper pacing and the support of our experienced guides at Hidden Path Treks & Expeditions, this trek can be completed comfortably without prior high-altitude trekking experience.
Our 8-day itinerary begins with your arrival in Kathmandu, followed by a drive to Pokhara and exploration of the lakeside. On Day 3, we drive to Ghandruk, a charming Gurung village, and begin our trek toward Tadapani. The route continues to Dobato, and from there, we make an early morning hike to Muldai View Point for a stunning sunrise experience. After soaking in the views, we descend to Ghorepani, and then down to Hile, before returning to Pokhara and finally back to Kathmandu. The journey offers an excellent blend of nature, culture, and gentle adventure.
The best seasons to trek to Muldai View Point are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). During these periods, the weather is stable, skies are clear, and mountain views are spectacular. Spring brings vibrant rhododendron blooms, while autumn offers crisp air and post-monsoon clarity. The trek can also be done in the winter months (December to February), though it may be colder and trails may be icy at higher altitudes. We usually avoid the monsoon season (June to August) due to heavy rains and leech-infested trails.
Trekkers stay in locally run teahouses and lodges, which are basic but comfortable. Rooms typically have twin beds, clean sheets, and shared bathroom facilities. Meals include hearty and freshly prepared Nepali and Tibetan dishes such as dal bhat, noodle soups, momo (dumplings), fried rice, and seasonal vegetables. Hidden Path Treks & Expeditions ensures that you are well-fed and properly rested at every stop. We encourage our guests to support the local economy by choosing traditional meals prepared by the lodge owners.
Yes, trekkers need to obtain the TIMS card (Trekkers’ Information Management System) and the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP). These permits are required for entering the conservation area and ensuring your safety. At Hidden Path Treks & Expeditions, we handle all the necessary paperwork and permits for you, so you can focus solely on enjoying the experience.
Since the maximum elevation on this trek is just over 3,600 meters, the risk of altitude sickness is relatively low compared to higher treks in Nepal. However, it’s still important to stay hydrated, walk at a comfortable pace, and avoid alcohol. Our guides are trained to monitor your health and can identify early symptoms of altitude sickness. Should any health concerns arise, we are fully prepared to provide assistance or modify the itinerary if necessary.
You’ll need comfortable trekking boots, layered clothing (for warm days and cool nights), a down jacket, rain gear, gloves, a warm hat, sunglasses, and a daypack. A good sleeping bag, water purification tablets or bottle, and a personal first aid kit are also recommended. Once you book with us, Hidden Path Treks & Expeditions will provide a detailed packing checklist to make sure you’re fully prepared. If you don’t have certain items, we can help arrange rentals in Kathmandu or Pokhara.
We are deeply committed to sustainable and responsible tourism. We operate with small groups to reduce our environmental footprint and partner with local guides, porters, and lodge owners to support the region’s economy. We promote Leave No Trace principles and encourage trekkers to minimize plastic use, dispose of waste properly, and respect local cultures and customs. Our goal is not just to provide an incredible trekking experience, but to do so in a way that benefits the local communities and protects the natural environment.
